It's Our Time Niagara - GNGH Foundation

This money goes towards local and regional hospital and
healthcare improvements for the Niagara Region. It is
the GNGH Foundation's responsibility to raise $8
million of the $40 million regional goal.

$3.6 million of our share will go towards new or
enhanced regional services such as:

The goal of the It's Our Time campaign
is to raise $40 million across the Niagara Region.

To date more than
$26 million has been raised!

the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine (Niagara Campus) -- the program began to
operate in the Niagara Region in September 2008 with 15 first-year students. This program will
expand and grow and will eventually be the training ground for 84 medical students by 2011.

the new Regional Mental Health Centre -- will services that range from provide support to
patients requiring long-term mental health treatment and specialized care.

People living in Niagara face a higher than average incidence of cancer.

Niagarans are facing cancer diagnosis at an equivalent rate of one new diagnosis every 8 minutes.

More than 1,200 patients must drive to Hamilton or Toronto each year for treatment. As our

population grows and ages that

rate will increase to one new case every 6 minutes.

the Niagara Regional Cardiac Catheterization Unit -- the cardiology program in Niagara will
provide local residents access to a full-spectrum of cardiac care, including prevention, diagnosis,
follow-up care and research.

The remainder of money raised locally
(approximately $4.4 million) will go towards
local hospital and program improvements;
including: new cancer diagnosis & treatment
equipment, a satellite dialysis unit, out-patient
mental health services and operating room
renovations.

When making your donations to the GNGH
Foundation you have the option of directing
where your money will go. You may choose to
support the It's Our Time campaign or select a
program at the Greater Niagara General.

people to leave Niagara and provide
options closer to home.

the regional programs and services regardless
of location. As a community we are developing
one of the best healthcare systems in the
province and reducing the need to travel
outside of the region for treatment.

comprehensive cancer treatment to Niagara
patients; including preventative, surgical,
chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
